Hello friends,

My school, Delta State University, is hosting a Film Festival. I am helping coordinate things, and wanted to notify all my fellow DVXusers about the event and ask that everybody that is interested to please submit your work.

This is only our second year, we were pleased with the response for the first festival, but I would LOVE to have some of the awesome work I've seen on here be submitted!

Thanks.

-Edgar

Late Deadline: February 15, 2007

Hello! The Delta International Film and Video Festival is proud to return after a very successful inaugural year in 2006. We received many excellent entries in all categories from the United States and abroad. Thanks to all the filmmakers who entered their work. Please check out our festival archive for the complete 2006 festival program and awards.

This year looks like it will be even more exciting. With a brand new website, new ideas, and new work by film and video artists from around the world, the 2007 DIFVF is bound to amaze. Good luck!

Festival Weekend Activities
The Delta International Film and Video Festival unspools Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. Festival weekend activities will soon be announced.

The DIFVF will be held in The Bologna Performing Arts Center, one of the most prominent arts and entertainment houses in the Southeast. The BPAC hosts such prestigious events as The Peavine Awards and performances of internationally-recognized musicians and performers. This season BPAC performances include those from the Soweto Gospel Choir, the Russian National Ballet Theatre, and The Glen Miller Orchestra

Jurors and Awards
Last year the DIFVF was very fortunate to have had David Appleby and Robert Mugge as guest jurors. The DIFVF is in the process of contacting prospective jurors for the 2007 festival. Please check back frequently for updates on this process.

Cash awards will be presented in all categories, including Best Feature, Best Short, Best Experimental, Best Documentary, Best Animation, and Best Student work. Best of Festival will also be awarded.
