I just go my Sony Hvr A1U about a day ago. I took it out for the first time the yesterday. Still getting the hang off it so bare with the footy. The first clip is just hd and the other ones are with the 24cinaframe mode. The thought some might like to check it out when I was going to buy the cam I was not able to find any footy so maybe this will help others. When I have more time ill throw up some more that looks better as I get more time with the cam enjoy!!! Let me know what you think.

My gosh, that's pretty darn impressive! I'm torn between this camera and the Canon but I'm slowly becoming more inclined towards this one. I'd love to see more footage when you get the chance!

this is slow mo with hc1, just some picnic footage. this cam gives some very good results.
cmos seems to be a very interesting technology. hc1 with progressive, better lens and image settings, i want a v1!

Hey Delaro, this footage was shot with the little sony hc1? It looks really good. What did you do on post? All the footage I've seen so far from the hc1 looks kind of videoish, but your's is really something. It makes me curious about these new sony 3 cmos hdv cameras. Even the FX7 that has no progressive mode might be a bit of s surprise. I'm very curious.

thanx! yeah it was shot with the hc1. i've just done some CC in after effects with Color Finesse. i've posted a second clip in normal speed on the same link.
i dont really know other hdv cams but by comparing with footages i've found on the net it seems that cmos gives something really less videoish, am i wrong?

I'm definatley impressed by CMOS. I wouldn't go so far as to say it looks just like film, but you're right, it is decidedly less video like than other CCD based cameras I've seen.

Hey Dwood, I have been looking at this camera too, but I haven't taken the plunge. Not sure why people are so disintersted especially with the excitement of of the FX7 V1U. It seems like this could be a good second camera to those as well as a cool smaller camera. Do you mind if I ask how much you payed? Footage looked very nice by the way.

Oh Yeah i really like the A1U alot I was trying to get a dvx but couldnt afford it but am very happy with my this cam so far its the first cam I have ever owned and loving it so far. I actually got it off of B&H photo for 1650. which was coo so I didnt have to worry about scams or anything.
Delaro Yeah that some really good color you had in the those clips hopefully when I get more time with my cam I will be able to get some good stuff too.
