Just went to check out the NYC Horror Fest tonight. JDS was supposed to come along, but no doubt he was home cuddling his baby...and I'm sure Megan was there too.

Anyway, I've been to the fest every year. It's fun.

BUT

If you are in NYC, I encourage you to go, if for no other reason, than you will see just how good the DVXUser films were. Much of the stuff in the NYC fest is extremely low quality, not just in terms of video, but lighting, camera work, acting, all the rest. Miles below things like "The Seeing," "Dear Jane," etc. Also, submit your horrorfest entry to next year's NYC fest. Seriously, from what I see every year, many of the films here SHOULD be considered. And usually, I get to hob-nob with some Horror peeps. One year, I got to drink the night away with Toby Hooper and Amanda Plummer, and had about an hour's worth of convo with Toby about filmmaking. Tonight I ran into Tony Todd - whom you may know as KERN, Worf's brother. Yeah, I know Worf's brother's name...

And this year there was some silly-assed thing called "Eddie Loves You." By some dude named "Darkline." I dunno, next thing you'll see him make some movie about a guy getting sucked into a bag, or something.

I'll be hitting it up again tomorrow night, and handing out cards to a screening of GOOD Horror Films. Ahem. So if you want to join, drop me a PM.

Hey Mark,

Did you go to the festival on all the other nights this week too?

"Eddie Loves You" is the most profound piece I will ever write.

I hope thats not amongst the low quality ones! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

How did it go down? If it went down badly better send me a PM as that's just bad marketing!

No, Eddie loves you was a lot of fun and KILLED the audience. It was definitely of a higher standard than the other shorts there that night.

Didn't you see my joke about it in the post above?

The theater was about full and the crwod was very into it. And I voted it the best short of the program.

Hey

that's wicked news guuuuuyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Yeh I saw your joke :-)... just checking.....!

I have seen it with an audience here in the UK and it went down really well, that said you never can tell whether people will buy into it or not.

I wish I had gone now. Probably my last chance to see it playing to a biggish audience.

Thanks for voting it the best short too - the cheque is in the post.....

Wait ... it wasn't Halfway that screened last night ...
Crap ... I probably still wouldn't have gone because I felt like poo, but now I'm bummed I missed Eddie Loves You.
