Hi there-

My work flow is avid express pro->QT ref->Cinemacraft Encoder SP vs 2.7->adobe encore.

A video project that I captured in 24PA on the DVX I imported into a 23.976 timeline in Avid.

I export to Cinemacraft encoder as a QT ref, set the encoder to do DVD compliant MPEG-2 compression with 2:3 pulldown.

When I play back the video on Windows Media player I can hear the audio but the video image freezes on the first frame.

So I tried an MPEG-2 compression without the pulldown and then added the pulldown flags using a program called "pulldown.exe."

The video will now play but every half second the footage kind of stutters. I'm thinking this is the pulldown flags and maybe WMP doesn't know how to handle them but I see the same thing once I import into Adobe Encore.

So my question is...once you add pulldown flags will your footage only play normally in a DVD player? Is there a way to test the footage to make sure it will play right in a DVD?

If you have CCE do you know of any setting that would fix the inital problem?

Thank you very much.
