Hi there !
I'm looking for a 3D animation artist who would be willing to lend his skills to our Holocaust documentary film. We are in the process of preparing a 5 minute trailer/pitch
for funding and we need about 30 seconds of intro animation.
Will sign contract when funds are in place - till then, I'm open to any reasonable suggestions regarding payments.
Please PM me if you are interested.
Thanks!

Hmm, Have you tried over at CGtalk, they have a hiring section, the skills are available its just the case of having the funds.

I think he would really need a team of people, one guy doing it all is admirable thing but in real life productions (just about any kind of production) a team of artist is needed (again this also depends on how complex the scene is)
But for something like a trailer, find yourself a decent team, maybe one storyborder thats a must,
(0) 1~3 Storyboarder
(1) 1~2 Modellers
(2) 1 Rigger
(3) Texture painter and generally texuring
(4) 1~3 Animators
(5) 1 scene setup (lights, models position, composition)
so basically a skilled group of about 6 Minimum, to about 12 for more of a complex animation.
Using just one guy means him having to do all of this, which is going to take a long time, not to mention having to be multitalented, having a team means people can focus on the skills they have, and not spread it too thin. In the End you will get a much more polished work.

Anhar, there are plenty of jobs that can be done by 1 person, we do it all the time, LOL, he is not asking for star war here, it's just a trailor.
I have to agree... many smaller productions are handled by smaller teams.
Hainy, what did you have in mind for your animation? Content, idea, theme, etc?
Any details will help us better understand what you're after and maybe one of us will lend a hand.

Of course I never said it can't be done, by one person. Don't get me wrong, I'm just saying the more complex the scene, its wiser to start thinking about having hiring more people. It just my view.
I too have dreams of making an entire film in CG, it has been done before many times. But in a production environment "two heads" are usually better than one :) .
Also the orginal post deals with a very BIG subject, surley this is not something to be taken lightly, if I wanted to deal with such a subject my self, I too would want a trailer befitting in the same magnitude.
But again these are my views and my views alone, I agree with the other posters that it is possible to do it with one artist, but thats a choice the orginal poster will have to make.

I'd also like to know the scope of the trailer...what do you need done for it? It may be something one person can help with, especially if initial funds are low, but yes, you are probably looking at a crew to do the full version depending on the amount of CG involved in the total project.

Hehe... I've done superbowl ads with smaller teams :)
