I am trying to burn my DVX100B 24pA footage onto a DVD. I edited it in FCP 5 and exported using compressor set at MPEG2 NTSC 23.98fps. When I open the asset in DVD Studio Pro it tells me that the frame rate is 29.97fps. What do I need to do so that is shows up as 24p?
Thank you!
I am having the same problem. Some light on this subject would be very nice!
I didn't pay the extra coin for the DVX and not be able to get the progressive frame rate on my DVD's.

I recall others explaining that this "problem" is normal, and that even though the asset is labeled as 29.97, the end product on the disc will be 23.98 progressive. Sorry, I can't really explain why.
I have also encountered this confusion after encoding a 23.98 MPEG-II and importing into DVDSP, but I just burned it anyways and it ended up being 24p.
Do a test and see what happens. You'll know when you play back the dvd and step trough it frame by frame.
