35mm adapters and magnets

Wasn't sure where to ask this.

I want to get the brevis but like so many it doesn't flip the image. I read a long time ago about using a magnet to flip the lcd, but can't find anything on it now.

Does that work? how? any other info about that?

The magnet flip deal works on the LCD of the dvx100, 100a, but not the b and not the HVX. For that, you need to drill a hole in the LCD hinge face plate and stick something in it to trip the self-shoot switch. bye bye warranty

can you explain why it works on the 100a? I have one of those and will be using the brevis on that for a few months before getting an HVX.

I dont think the hole in that plastic is that big of a warrenty voider, i mean it will void the warrenty, but its easily explainable if something happens to the camera. Like saying, ya that part fell off on a shoot, but never got around to askin you guys for a new one. It doesnt take any tools to get it off of there, i got it off with a key and my fingers.

you dont have to drill a hole... i have a 100b and popped the plastic hinge cover off (very carefully with a small knife) and stuck in a bobby pin. it worked perfectly... no holes, and no broken pieces. i can pop that piece right back on and nothing is damaged.
