Here are some grabs of the original shoe tree .The tree can be found just outside of TWEED , Ontario(North of Belleville) on Sulphide R.d
It has been around for at least 30 yrs. It was so popular that a local farmer left a hammer and nails at the tree for people to use.
Then on a warm summer night some kids tried to burn the tree . The tree survived but not the shoes .
The shoes eventually made their way back onto the tree , though not as popular as years gone by it is a legend in these parts .
If you look at the branches (arms) it looks like they were being raised in anger very similar to the tree in ours just before he explodes.
