It’s almost over! :(
Well done guys on a frantic festival, my head is still spinning.
I just wanted to say that the overall quality of films has astounded me. I think everyone has really developed hugely as filmmakers. As your all aware it’s one of the toughest industries to get into and I’m sure by raising the bar on yours films, you have made it that bit easier on yourselves. Again story was king, as it should be. Cinema photography has eclipsed anything gone before, (I’ve got to talk the wife into getting an adapter), and editing seems to be the least of worries for most. In my reviews I’ve tried to focus on good and bad points. Being honest I admire anyone who puts a project together and finishes it, so I tried to encourage as much as possible. Taking the risk of showing your film and letting people think/ review on it, IMOP, is the most important thing you can do to develop and grow. Marketing crept into the mix too, thank God it did! An area I failed miserably in and others excelled. It taught me a valuable lesson, what’s the point in putting all the hard work into a project if you can’t sell it to the public?
I’ve made lots of new friends and a few die-hard enemies, not to mention the people I’ve hacked off, with rushed thoughts getting into threads. Another learning experience for me! It’s personally been a rollercoster ride from uploading to reviewing. I’ve been elated and deflated within the space of five minutes hanging around here. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I applaud your efforts and hope you have enjoyed the experience as I have.
Best of luck to everyone.
