The cinematography was one of the best elements in this fest. I want to invest in some more kit for my next production and I wondered what people had used in this one.
Some shorts like Stricken, Rekindled, Bloody Mary and a lot more all looked the bees knees..... What did you use, and what did other people use to get their shots to look as horiffic as they could?
I'll start, for Halfway I had :
1 dimable 50w pin spot
3 (normal kitchen type) flourescents on dimmers (creates the flicker!)
1 30W strobe light
1 25W UV light.
I'd be really interested to hear what everyone else had.

Thanks HybridCreation. I appreciate it!
And I guess, I should state that my arsenal of lights is what I have, NOT what I used on I.D. (hell, that would have burnt my camera up!)

I think its the eye of the DP not the contents of the light kit.

I couldn't agree more. I've lost count of how many hollywood films I've seen that have crappy cinematography (framing, angles, overall shot decisions) but if you were to pause and analyze any specific shot you'd say, "the lighting itself looks good, I like that shadow falloff...some nice edge lighting there...some 'and on and on..."

i used a 60 watt red lightbulb in a worklight, two sets of 500w fresnels and of course, the sun. i also used the LED light from a computer monitor to get that "creepy-internet-stalker-glare"
