I am distributing this film on DVD at my indie film distribution website, http://newworldpics.com
Some details on it:
Shot in the 'Garden State' ahhh, ehhhm... yeah... aka New Jersey.
Hey, I'm born and raised, I can poke fun at it if I want to.
Docs and Robbers was shot for $200,000 using the Sony F900 HD camera. The single largest investment came from the former CEO of American Eagle stores.
It screened twice at the Tribeca Grand Hotel's screening room in Manhattan. Rick Schwartz, producer of Gangs of New York, The Others, and, more recently, The Departed, was in attendance and he loved it. Quote from the festival packet: "It's a breath of fresh air. Just an honest, funny story filled with interesting characters."
The script was written by actor Dave Scotti and his father, Angelo Scotti, a doctor living in New Jersey. It was inspired by a friend of his that was stripped of his medical license under supsicious circumstances and then did a six month stint in prison.
At the website, you can watch a clip of the film, read the synopsis, and even post a review. If the clip does not play on your computer, it can also be viewed at myspace.com/newworldpics
That's about it for now. Looking forward to finding an audience for this great film.
Enjoy the flick!
