I checked the Kaku's G1 interlaced footage and it looks amazing. I don't know what is it but even the footage that was shot interlaced didn't look very interlaced (motion wise and feel wise). I wonder if the HDR - FX7 will be able to achieve this kind of look. I'm still waiting for the "functions" button to become available at sony's website. Does anybody know the HDR - FX7's price on europe? I know the A1 is around 3600€ and I'd like to know what is the price difference to the HDR - FX7.

i've been to an official presentation of the v1 this morning at the french audiovisual show SATIS, i dont know about the fx7 price but the price of the v1 will be 4800€ without VAT (5750€ with tax).

I think the FX7 is going to have a hard hard time staying afloat unless it has a serious price drop. Sony is absolutely crazy to think people will pay the price they want for this toy camera when they can have a powerful camera like the Canon A1 for a couple of bucks more.

B&H (briefly) had the V1U at $3999; I think it's gone back up to $4199 but either way it should be a much better match for the A1 than an FX7 would be.

I think the only people that this camera may apeal to more than the A1 is skaters, on the account that is much more portable and good for handheld shots on skates.
