Oooh, and it's Russian, so that puts a whole new twist on "Red"...

Kinor made 35mm movie cameras for much, much less than the Germans or Americans. (of course, guys like Anatoly at Slow Motion Inc would rip out the and replace the electronics because the originals were junk, but that was from the Communist era, vs. today's free-market Kinor). It'd be most interesting to hear from anyone who has used this HD gear. 400fps at 1920x1080 sounds pretty good.

But... I'd wait to see it before getting too excited. If people thought Red was being aggressive at $17,500, what will they say about the Kinor DC2K camera at $3,000?

They rent it at $350/day... I would guess $3000 is the purchase price.

I've actually seen one of the DC2K Kinor's when I was in Eastern Europe this year. I had no right to touch or work with it but it looked well made as far as the body.

This is kind of funny how the Red team is on the "bleeding edge" but in reality the Russians already have traveled the road and have product in use.

I wonder what the change over price would be if I presented my Krasnogorsk-3 as a trade-in? :D
