When connecting field monitors to the dvx, is the monster s-video cable the best way to go?

Is the monster composite cable good enough?

This question is kinda stupid (and yes I do believe in stupid questions because there are stupid people) ;D , so anyways, I've included a joke to entertain you.

-Knock knock.

-Who's there?

-Joe.

-Joe who?

-Joe Mama.

I use a plain old RCA to BNC composite video cable and the image looks pretty clean to me. An s-video cable would be a little better but no need to spend $$$ on monster cable.

Thank you Barry. So I'll go with S-Video, but you're saying I won't be able to tell the difference on a 9" 300L Field Monitor, right? (it's the Ikegami tm9-1).

Personally I think for the price, this is the most solid field monitor with all the features you need- including anton bauer battery hook up.

Again, thanks Barry.

Do people realize how valuable the advice on this site is? *I do tests myself but I take into account valued member's advices like Barry's, Disjecta and so on...

So much so that putting together my production package, thousands of dollars have been invested aided by such help from dvxmembers. *Thanks guys!

A good quality s-video cable will be indistinguishable from a Mon$ter cable version. I've never bought into the whole Monster cable deal and I think it's better to spend your money wisely on other things that do make a difference. A couple of times when i've been in a jam and needed cables, I had to buy Monster cables and they're not any better than any other cable I've bought.

I agree about the great info on this site--I'm constantly learning new stuff.

Yep. Even if it's only learning what not to do. ;D

I'm real good for that.

That's funny, I just noticed in your avatar that you are looking through the wrong end of the DVX :)
