i just got it pulled it out of the box and now have some Qs so any help would be apreciated. i was wondering recomendation or preferences on settings for a really good film look, and how would i go about putting those setting in, just like a basic ground from which i can expound and learn. also how do i get it to play back most cameras when i plug them on and put them in vcr mode r aotumatically detected however its not seeing the camera, is there a setting on the camera im not aware of? once again thank u

For film look, start with f-5 and go from there. The rest you have to play around with, because each situation will be different. There is no magic setting, you almost have to bracket and find one that suits your own style.
The other, I would need more info about your computer and setup, then I would I would still be guessing?

I did the same! Unpacked, went & shot everything in sight & back to impress friends, *^&$%@#! No Video! Back to the book. Bottom L/H side as you look at the eyepiece is a button. Select Camera/VCR.

Shoot with the default presets for some time before you alter anything. This will give you a base of knowledge that you can draw on when you need to down the track.
