First off...hello to everyone since this is my first time posting something. Everyone here is so helpful that I usually find answers for my questions in previous posts.
Anyway, I have a problem with my DVX100a not recognizing tapes. I was making a VHS dub of some footage and it started the whole blue fade in and out pixelating thing like the heads were dirty or something. I took the tape out, turned off the camera, and tried a different tape but the camera wouldn't even switch to VCR mode. I haven't used anything but MQ tapes and have been very conservative about using the camera. I let it sit for a while thinking that it might have been running too long (even though it was only running the length of one tape.) I tried it out tonight and it is not even recognizing that there is a tape in the camera (apart from one try, when it gave me a "Auto Off Loading Lock" message.) Every time I loaded a tape, the camera made an odd sound when it was trying to cue it up.
I bought this camera back in March from Rush at EVS. My camera only has about 25 hours of total usage and has spent the rest of its time in a Pelican case. I've never dropped it or anything.
Does this sound like a serious problem? It seems like it shouldn't be doing this with such little use. Maybe a lemon? What should I do? I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
