Ok,
I'm not exactly a new-b when it comes to editing projects ect. But I recently purchased the anamorphic lens for the DVX-100 and so I went and shot some quick footage and now I am wanting to just view it 'unsquezed' in editing. The only problem is I can't figure out how to do this in Vegas 4? Is this not possible in this program, do I need to upgrade? Does Premiere Pro 1.5 do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Lee

I don't know what the capabilities of Vegas 4 are but it should be able to display the footage just fine if you can find a widescreen or 16:9 project setting (when you create a new project).

Right-click your anamorphic clips, go to media properties, and change the pixel aspect ratio to 1.2 NTSC DV Widescreen.

By default the DVX writes the clips out as 4:3, because it doesn't "know" the anamorphic adapter is on there. So you have to manually change the aspect ratio of the clips, and after you do that you'll be happily editing in all its widescreen glory.

Barry,
Thanks! I knew the adapter wouldn't be recognized because it doesnt actually send a 'signal' to the tape telling it that it's there. :-) I knew there was something I was missing. Anyway, it worked!

Gracias again!
