Hey folks, stumbled across this site a few days ago and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Tons of great info here and knowledgable folks, I'm looking forward to learning alot here.
I am currently putting together a package for a TV show. (not hd or widescreen or anything, just first season regional stuff) I am pretty well sold on getting a DV5000U after using the 500 extensively last season. I plan to get another lower priced camera for b-roll footage. I was going to get the JVC 300U since I would imagine it would most closely match the footage im shooting with the 5000.
That said, after looking at some of the images here, and reading about how great the DVX is, you guys have me drooling. I am seriously thinking about dropping the extra dough to get a DVX instead.
My concern is that my first priority is the show, the extra features on the DVX would be just for fun, and any side work I might do that I want to look more like film than video.
So my question is, how well do you think the DVX footage would cut with the 5000? My gut tells me to just wait till next season to get the DVX and get the 300U to be safe. But wow, does that DVX look nice.
