Hi guys.

I Just got an internal 250 bg harddrive installed in my computer. My other harddrive has only about 6 GB of space left.

The problem is, when I capture video, it is saving it to my first harddrive.

When they installed it, they put the new harddrive as the slave instead of the master, but told me I could manually save it to that specific drive instead of my first one. I'm saving the file (i think) to my new drive, but to no avail. It looks like it is being capturedto the first drive.

I really don't have any idea of what to do about this. If the first drive is full, will it automatically move on to the new one?

I'm not really a tech guy. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Go beat the installer of the thing for daisy chaining it through your old hard drive.

Have him change it so the new one is the master... however, it should still be able to capture to your new hard drive.

I'm using vegas movie studio + DVD.

Well if it stays as is and I use the remaining space on my c drive, will future captures just carry on over to the new (f) drive?

in FCP you go into the system preferences and chang the "scratch drives" to whichever you want and thats where your footage and render files are saved. I imagine its similar in Vegas.

Dont fill up the old one. Doooont do that- fix it instead of ignoring it.

whew.

I think I figured it out.

Thanks for the help.

I've had vegas and the gs-500 for less than a day and it looks like I have a lot of learning to do.

don't be surprised if I ask more questions. :)
