dvx100 schematic or parts list

I opened my soft case this morning to find my camera (and therefore I) had suffered a great trauma. The Leica matte box had been ripped off of the lens taking the focus ring with it.

Luckily it can be fixed. I just need a new focus ring and a new _____? The ring that attaches it all to the lens. I don't know the name of the part.

I called Panasonic to order the new parts but they need part numbers. However there is no parts list or schematic of the camera either in the manual or online anywhere. The person on the phone at panasonic didn't know where I could find one.

Kind of a catch 22. They want the part number but they don't produce documentation as to what they are.

Can anyone point me to a resource where I can locate the part name or number.

You can call Panasonic back and order the "service manual" for your camera and in the service manual will be a list of all the parts with exploded views. It's about $50 for the manual.

Yeah, very useful.

I wonder if those who are finding it hard to raise the money to purchase a DVX could just order parts bit by bit and slowly build it themselves...? ;)
