Horse was having a lot of trouble with Cuteftp. He switched to Filezilla (pretty sure that's what it was called) and he got it uploaded.

For those on PC, I have had GREAT success with SmartFTP (www.smartftp.com). It is an easy to use, has a Windows Explorer-esque display, allows drag and drop between Windows folders/desktop and the FTP folders.

Peace,
Larry

1) Check your firewall status.

2) Try using the simplest method: Type in the FTP address in internet explorer. It should prompt you for user info. Then from there you can drag and drop the file into the folder window afterward.

3) Try using another computer if you have the ability to get to one. It could be something that takes time to sniff out, and you don't want to waste that time.

Hey man, been there and done that. I know your pain and frustration.

Listen to these guys. Try a different ftp program. Some of the one's being mentioned have proven succesful. And I do believe that Blaine is correct that Horse was having a lot of trouble with Cuteftp.

Don't go onto the 55th hour without trying a different ftp. I don't know much about them but I've learned to listen to these dvxusers who are trying to help.

We want you to live to go through this hell again! :)

Seriously, good luck... let us know how you're doing! I am going to worry about you until you write back!!!

SmartFTP is great - I use it all the time. And it's free for non-commercial use.

Arrgh. Timed out at 50%! I just tried again and after 1% it gave me a status of "waiting". I hope I make it. I was up all night trying to get the project rendered in h264 and wound up throwing in the towel and went to mp4. That worked out great! I actually uploaded a zip file at about 4:00am and it went through. But I forgot to include the mpeg AND, to top it off, the cut I rendered was missling half the sound tracks. AAAIIEEE!! Hopefully I can get this stuff uploaded now.

It makes all the difference in the world, especially with Horror flicks. And I have had people gather around my laptop to see my film and I insist that they wear my headphones.

You should see their faces. And they all say the same thing... "not the same movie!"

Just thought want people to enjoy all of these films to their max. I know that I put a lot (and still not enough) time into sound design (or Foley... is that right?)

YAHOO cinealma! Great News!!!

You know it, brother. I'm not sure what was more stressful, making the damn thing or rendering/uploading it. :)

TheatreGuy

I know what was more stressful... the compressing/upload thing. Damn, that was awful for me.

The movie making experience was a blast... of course, I had no one on the set stressing me out

Just myself and a camera and some lights! And a little bit of blood. And, oh yeah! A couple of ladders! :)

Outputting to any format, tape, dvd, web, whatever it is , is also a part of the movie making experience.
