Hello
I have mentioned in a previous post that was in the makes of makeing a tv series id like to pitch to several studios. The script is ready and story board the works. I dont want to jump face first into this because im going to be competing with tv shows that are funded with lots of money all which i don't have.

My question is for a tv series what would benifit me more. I know the anamorphic lense is a good deal for blowing up to fil. The 35mm if a good deal for a dof. What would benifit me more since i know you cannot use them both. For a tv series would the anamorphic be a standard or shoulkd I just buy a 35mm adapter for the dvx00b?

All help will be greatly aprciated.

grab a 35mm adapter, shoot either squeeze, or 4x3 and uprez it.

its a TV show, why you would you need more rez? Unless I'm missing something, just get the 35mm adapter. Don't bother shooting squeeze as it deletes a lot of rez

Will places like nbc for example accept it that way? If so I will buy the 35mm. like that ill have the best of both worlds. I worked before with the ana lense and i had a hard time using zooms andfstops and so on even a dollyshot worked not so well and very softfocused. Please let me know if studios will acept this; if so U made a dream come true. Thanks again.

Broadcast is 4x3, there is no 16:9 broadcast in th United States, unless it is HD. Basically you have two options 4:3 display or letterboxed, neither of which will benefit from the Anamorphic lens.

ifocus -> least expensive - static adapter - comes with 35mm Lens
letus35 -> vibrating adapter ( or spinning dont remember )

and there are a few other good contendors out there.

I have the ifocus and i have to say it kicks ass. Especially with the new HQ setup. Definately worth every penny.

how much does the ifocus go for? Also if i shoot with a anamorphic adapter on one of the cams will i be able to resize it to 4x3 safley. I think i will buy one 35mm for one cam and rent an anamorphic adapter for the other cam because i don't know how the dvd conversion will look if i don't make it and dvd will be the next choice for distribution. I realy wish they would be someway to combine them both. Thanks again for all help.
