Is is possible to capture on a PC uncompredded HD footage from the hvx without a p2 installed however.

Use the component cable to connect to HD-component inputs of whatever capture you are using. As long as your NLE supports a "live capture", this will work. I must say that there might be better cameras with which to do this since the HVX does not have SDI output, only component HD. Canon and JVC have SDI out options.
