Before I send it back and have them tell me they couldnt get it to do it in the shop, has anyone had an issue with the cameras electronics freezing in slight humidity? I cannot get it to stop recording to change any settings. Powering off and back on it goes right back to recording. It NEVER does this under controlled settings, ONLY outside in heat and Humidity (in FL) It does it in both tape and P2 modes, and other electronic functions are inaccessable also. Not extreme conditions by anyones standards.

Bad unit, send it back. I work in southeast Louisiana swamps, humidity, heat, and boat spray. Never had those issues. And I'm talking extreme humitidy, heat, and boat spray.

I spent a week in Pohnpei where the humidity was so high it could only get worse if you jumped off the boat... :-)

No problems at all.

We're here in the New Orleans area - soupy, sweaty and sultry. No problems at all with our HVX's - although our Sony DVCAMs shut down alot with the humidity.

Ben, we have to hook up some time.

Here in North Carolina you can save time in the summer by not bothering to shower, just walk outside and the humidity gives you a bath on your way to the car. Crazy humid, but no hint of trouble from the HVX.

Also shot in a Bikram Yoga studio, 110 degrees with I don't know how high the humidity was but it was incredibly high. HVX didn't blink.

Sounds like the problem is with your specific camera.

No problem at all here (Martinique, Caribbean). Extreme condition with 100% humidity, go and return from air-conditioning to outside etc...
Is your HVX200 new?
Hope you can solve this
