I have a Nikon DX2s SLR digital camera. Will the len work on the Red camera?
I will be using it until your zoom ships.

Even though I own a Canon 20D, I'll be looking for old Nikon manual lenses circa the early seventies. Since there will be no electronic control of the lens, I believe that all auto-focus lenses would be stuck with a wide open aparture.

Apparently you can set apertures on auto-focus lenses by tricking them - ie set the aperture and then turn the power off/take out the battery. I don't remember the exact details, but I'm sure a search will bring up the relevant posts. It would be a bit of a pain to do often though!

Clint...as far as Canon AF lenses go it is true that they'll always be wide open (unless of course you use the very tricky work around.) Not true for Nikon though. Even with Nikon modern AF lenses (except for a noted few cases) the aperture is manual and can (and must be) set by hand. The redrockmicro (micro35 adapter) website is a great place to learn about all of this because people really know their SLR lenses as far as using them for video goes. I'd reccomend checking it out.
Hope some of that helps.
Peace,
-Harry

I guess I spoke to soon, being more familiar with Canon since that is the direction I went back in the dark ages when the Canon D30 came out. Hmmmm... is it time to trade my Canon kit off on Nikon? I'm pretty brand agnostic and it would be nice if I can use the lenses between Red351 and a Nikon D80 - especially while I wait for 18-85#38 to arrive.
