Downloaded the Panasonic P2 viewer for PC, P2 card loaded up no problem.
Panasonic claims that you can also load these files onto a Hard Drive.
I don't see that option, and there no apparent documentation to refer to.
Helpful hints anyone?

Tool -> Setting Virtual P2 Card -> click on leftmost icon in tool bar.
That let's you browse for a folder and create a virtual P2 Card, which you can then access through the options in the View menu.

THoff,
Thanks for the info, are you using this Pana P2 Viewer?
I will create the virtual P2 card, why is it called "virtual P2 card " when you save it to a HDrive.
i see in some of your other posts that you are using eduis Broadcast, I downloaded the Eduis 4 demo, sweet program and easy to use.
It will soon be mine!

I use P2 Viewer when I have to -- usually on my underpowered laptop.
They call it a virtual P2 card because it makes a directory on your hard disk act just like a P2 card. I think it's a clumsy implementation, it would be so much more intuitive to allow the user to browse a hard drive, and if the folder in question contains P2 data, display it as such without having to define a virtual P2 card in one section of the program, and then needing to go into another to view it.

SO if I'm understanding you correctly, even though you created the Virtual P2 card on the hard drive you still need a P2 viewer to look at the data/footage in that folder?
So what's the point of this? Can't you just capture the footage with Edi's Broadcast and save it to your HD and deal with it as you would any other footage?
I'm new to this P2 stuff, most of the time i capture to tape or shoot 720/24pn and down convert to tape, it just makes me feel more comfortable having the tape to archive .

You can do something similar with Edius' P2 Select utility by importing the P2 folder into the media bin. But in my case, I don't have Edius on my laptop, I use it strictly for acquisition in the field, all my editing is done on a desktop.
