a public formal apology + questions
i am sorry to all who read the recently deleted post entitled 'dear jim'.
it was wrong of me to try to bring a smile to your faces.
that never to mention post marked the downfall of your society.
yes. a slightly off topic thread that was so controversial it needed to be completely erased from existence. i managed to save the first page of the thread in my cache. it will be printed and filed under things not to be mentioned.

it did bring to light a few things.
there will be an increase in the amount of people, stupid people maybe, interested in the red. this means that you all will have to get ready for a bunch of people to jump on the bandwagon, not bothering to ready old threads, asking questions like...
will it do 24p?
can i take one of the modules off the cage?
i have a lens, does the lens mount hold lenses?
is the rail system configurable?
what does 4k mean and how much will the film stock cost per reel?
what does the red dot on the front do?
i am filming my kids birthday party on the weekend, the red is a bit cumbersome. do you plan on making a smaller version so my kids can be in 4k?
my son said something about a red. i wanted to buy him something nice for graduating junior high, is this a good present?

i just ordered five for my production house, just to clarify, it can go underwater right?

at last count there were aprox 500 reservations for the red one, by early next year (the release date) i could see that number tripling. however reservations do close october, so maybe only double. i assume they close october because you will produce that number of units initially.
after the release and the initial thousand production units are in the wild your sales will increase exponentially. judging from other camera history, you could expect to shift around 10,000 units in the fist year.
can we expect the price to go up after release for non reservation holders?
how many units do you expect to produce and sell initially?
what do you expect the wait would be to receive a unit in early 2008. 1 week? 3 months?
