I just got my hands on an HVX and got to play for about a week....it sold me and my wife(: Looks like I'll be getting one sometime next week!! As wonderful as the camera is, and as cool as 60p slowmo is, I'm still left wondering how can you get the type of slo mo you see on say hershey's chocolate commercials, you know where you see this flowing stream of chocolate and then all of sudden you see this super slo mo almond (or something) flying accross the screen then colliding with the chocolate stream, revealing this incredibly detailed splash..... How are they getting that smooth and that slow? I'm doing a promo vid for this candy company looking to go national and I would love to be able to display there candy in this fashion. Anyone discovered any tricks in this regard?

They're shooting on film and running the film through the camera at something like 128 fps or more.

There are two ways to do this:

1. Rent a film camera (best option, by far)

2. Twixtor

Now Twixtor is a very cool plug-in for After Effects, but it still doesn't compare to film, not even close. That said, Twixtor is the best way I know of to slow down video somewhat effectively.
