I'm sure a lot of users here would benefit from the following discussion:
What is the best workflow between Edius and AE?
What format should one export in Edius, and what format should one export in AE for import back into edius?
If your footage is 24p (not 24pa) from a dvx100, how would this workflow look?

Heres our current workflow.
For SD dv 24p,
this is straightforward, in Edius the setting is DV23.976P
for clips to be used in AE, its exported as DV, in my case I use Canopus DV, or if you like MSDV codec,
Open a new composition in AE using 23.976 as time base,
After doing the necessary FX work in AE, export back to DV using the comp's timebase of 23.976 with no fields (progressive) using canopus DV or MSDV for reintegration in Edius.
for footage involving HDV,
Edit natively(m2t file) in Edius 4,
When there is a need for compositing, the concerned clips are converted to cineform avi format (the file is bigger but fast and responsive in any adobe application)
After the compositing is done, the clip is exported using canopus HQ codec to be integrated back into the edius timeline.
Hope this helps.
