Don't get me wrong, I am as eager as any to see what this camera can do BUT PLEASE, give us some true 4K images or, even better, some 4K video footage. This camera looks amazing and is set to revolutionize the industry, but the images that come off of it are what is truly important. Come on RED team, I know that you are busy but you have already pulled some images off of the sensor for IBC. Isn't there someone down there with a computer powerful enough to upload it to the web?

That above link aside, I'm fairly confident that that being said, DVXuser members will be forgiving with the footage. They could just write a watermark over the footage saying "preliminary" or something.

no way !! .. from my experience you can explain this is test , this is not CC whatever and persons viewing are going to raise questions of every little detail they see as not perfect !! ...
example: for several months RED has stated the camera will not be silver - there are still post as recent as IBC asking/saying camera should not be silver !!

Footage will be released when it's ready to be released. The camera is at least five months away from being on the market. Manufacturers usually don't release footage early, and when they do it's usually only a month or two before shipment. RED has been exceptionally aggressive, by showing footage to a worldwide audience of broadcast professionals over five months before the product's due to ship.
And Jim's already said they're going to be shooting some new stuff. They want to shoot something that shows off what the product can really do.
As long as footage shows up sometime in the next four months I'd say they've gone above and beyond what other companies do, so just sit tight. You already have the promise of the company's president that they're going to shoot and post something.

You guys are right. I'm just so excited about this product that I can't contain myself. Being in film school, I've noticed a huge division between those that shoot film and those that shoot digital video. Most of the students that shoot film refuse to believe that any digital technology could match or surpass the look and feel of celluloid. I'm praying to the high heavens that RED achieves what it is poised to achieve.

This just makes me think that I should have been at IBC. IT was indeed an historical event (at least in my book). And I was planning on going but in the end couldn't make it!
Damn!

barrys right on the money. The presentation at IBC was "proof".. if you really needed to see it because you are skeptical you could of hopped on a plane. Im sure the Red team, given its aggressive schedule, has allocated the majority of their time to make the damn camera, not run around to make the internet happy, (wich by the way Jim has been voluntarily doing since day one, which we all shouldn't take for granted)
So.. yee of little faith... trust the people here that have seen the footage. Ive been lucky enough to see many images from the camera, and I can tell you without a doubt, they will more than satisfy your expectations.

Spot on Jarred! We're working as hard and as fast as we can to make the camera.
