Somebody here's in charge of Nikon, right? My 50mm is a fine lens, except it requires way too much light to autofocus, is way too loud, and slow. Give me a mechanism that works like the 70-200mm or 300mm, and I'll take it at any weight.

I love my 50mm 1.8D. I normally manually focus but I think it's a great piece of glass... plus once you get that stopped down to F4 it is one of the sharpest pieces of glass I have ever held.
