where to get a D50?

Where's should I go to get the best deal on a D50 kit and not get screwed. I've been looking on ebay and craigslist, but if someone tried to give me something screwed up, I probably wouldn't know better.

Any advice?

To save money Overstock.com had some refurbished units for $450 body only.

To buy used... find someone who is upgrading to the D200 or Nikonians.com (risky). Personally I wouldn't want to buy a used camera simply because there is a massive difference in how people use cameras. Something that has been used for studio use versus in the field, vacations, or just family pictures (kids dropping it, ect.) is going to have a huge descrepency in use and wear and tear.

My advice... wait a month and buy new.

If you have a membership to Costco, I saw a good deal on them last month...haven't been in since, they may still have them.

What was the deal Blaine? My godparents have a Costco card, so does my mom i think...id rather go with my Godparents though :P LOL. Ive found multiple good deals on craigslist, but never get a response, sometimes i think my email is broken, when i literally send out like 5 emails for D50's at like 425 to 475 and not get a single response, but then i refresh my email and have 22 viagra emails and go, ya i just got craigslisted again

Seems like it was in the mid $700 range. You got the camera body along with two zoom lenses...something like a 18-70mm and a 70-300mm (I think, it's been a month), the camera case and some little odds and ends.

There's an EBAY seller, completephotousa, that sells factory refurbished d50's. The auctions always end at $500, give or take a few. It's the d50 kit with the 18-55 lens. I've been watching a lot of the auctions, I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. 99% positive feedback.

Check office depot, a couple of weeks ago they were closing them out a $499 w/ lens.
