OK, I just happened to stumble on this, but now I'm thinking about investing in it to give it a go and see what's up...

3D photography... pretty wicked if you ask me...
Anyone else play with this at all?

I remember those "toys" where they had small slides you put in and view the pictures in 3D.
Obviously you will have to get and this thingy thats "projects them". But it is cool.

There is software that will allow you to merge the image in the computer so essentially you can put together an entire 3D photography album online... Just sounds like something fun to play with.
Plus if you look at the glass it is really cheap bad glass they are selling (then again it is $70). It is F11 with only infinite focus. Essentially there are no manual controls except for shutter... Plus I think the glass is F11 locked, so you can't step it down.
It's a toy rather than a substantial piece of glass, but I think I might invest to just play around and see what I can come up with.
EDIT:
After looking closer I guess it is a locked F11 but it can be focused... Still seems like a cheap toy though

I've been to the art exhibit of a guy who does almost exclusively 3d photography. His mechanism is very simple: a sliding rail with two stops, three inches apart. He takes the photo, slides the camera to the other side, takes it again. That's it. Really incredible stuff, too, intricate stuff with models. Unfortunately I have no idea what his name was.
