Hey guys I have to shoot next week a commercial spot to be broadcasted locally.
I have not woked on a commercial with the HVX and was wondering if I could shoot 24fps to have more P2 space. I have a feeling beta will be the final output to the station. Just want to get input on if there will be any problems shooting 720pn.
The client requested HD even though it will not be broadcasted that way.
Thanks

There shouldn't be, plenty of comercials are film to begin with or 24p from a F900 (orvthe like).

Even though spots aren't being inserted in HD anytime soon in my area, it's great that you can shoot in HD for the future. What are you getting forf a rate with the HVX? ow do you split that out with the edit?

It will be combined with the edit. We are in the talks now for budget. It is nice to say to clients that at least the original is HD for future broadcast.
Would shooting in 24 effect the transfer to beta? I never worked with beta before and I am assuming the station will be dealing with that as the format.

No, it will not. If you need to deliver as 60i, you have your full choice of export options with pulldown. It would be no different than transferring 24 fps film to Beta.

It may be in my best intrest to use 60i for ultimate options. I am in a controlled enviroment and have P2 store etc. As always though the more storage space saved the better.
I just did not know how beta handled frame rates etc. I was just concerned about format of the final product to the station since beta seems to be the norm. Rather hand of a QT file :)
You also have the option of shooting 720 30pn at 30fps. All these options will work.
