Rendering .Mov

I am currently trying to render a .mov project and am running into some problems. I have a .psd overlay of a company logo that I crop/panned into the lower right hand corner of the entire project. My problem(or perceived one) is my rendering time and GB used has gone up 4x. For a 30 min render it was taking 4+ hours and 80GB. Does this sound correct or am I am doing something incorrectly?
I am also having a problem when I open this project for after I shut down my computer, I get an error message from Vegas stating that the Quicktime plugin could not be found, so it leaves QT files in my project in a offline mode. When I uninstall QT and reinstall it, the files open. I have downloaded all the window updates and DirectX, but have put off SP2. Any suggestions?
