Avid 720/59.94 project exported to Sorenson Squeeze via the 'send to' option
using the Encoding for AVID DVD by Sonic option. All defaults.

When Sonic opens, the DVD_NTSC_lg is placed on the video.

footage is 9:42 long. Sorenson stops encoding video at about 3:42 but
continues encoding audio.

In the end I have a video that is missing after 3:42 for the duration of the
9:42 video but with audio all the way.

Canopus Express also craps out a third of the way through saying it's complete without errors. However only a third of the video is the result.

Sorenson support doesn't know the answer and I won't send them my raw video on dual layer dvd.

Right now, I don't know if this is a compression issue or system hardware issue or a Quicktime 7 issue.......

I had the same problem, try not using the Avid DV Codec in the export settings comming out of Avid. Go Export / as QT movie / Format Options / settings / then use DV/DVCPRO - NTSC or even there animation codec / Scan Progressive. (back in Export first window - size to fit, color 601/709 Native Dimensions. This finally worked for me but not sure why exactly... i used another compression program (Turbine video encoder2) the trial and it had no problems. The issue is with Avid export settings that Sorenson is having problems with i think. In Sorenson my Dvd settings were Data rate 7800. 2 pass vbr. Field encoding bottom first. Frame rate 1 ...
Goodluck .. hope this helps. I was stuck with white picture for weeks - Aghhh.

Thanks for the response.

I ended up not using Sorenson Squeeze and used h.264 compression straight from Avid. Then I brought the video directly into Avid DVD and finished my project.

I'm going to try your method and see how it works for me. My 10 minute footage was over one gig mov file. Trying to get it smaller with good quality.

Thanks again..
