Principal photography has just wrapped on our Horrorfest entry and the footage looks pretty good.
The story is about a guy who has a peculiar run in with a certain childhood electronic game that we all played with and loved as little tikes.
I am now away on business until October, but my co-director is handling all the post stuff. The only stumbling block we foresee is in the audio score department. I would've handled that had I been around because my friend has very little knowledge of music composition and the such, but since I am unable to work on this, I'm asking you guys for help.
HELP!
Is there anyone out there who is interested and willing to collaborate short-notice with us on the score? We're looking for something rather minimal / subtle with a "Goblin-esque" feel to it. You know... that funky 70's Italian horror vibe. Any help would be appreciated guys. At the very least, even some links or advice would help my friend out a lot. Thank you very much in advance to anyone who can help.
Lastly, I'm gonna try getting some BTS and possibly a couple footage stills uploaded here for everyone's viewing pleasure. I know personally, I enjoy everyone else's pics immensely. Thanks so much everyone and I hope you enjoy our completed project assuming we finish it by the deadline.

Congrats on the wrap! Sorry, can't offer any help in the score dept.
Good luck with all and look forward to seeing your film!
Post some BTS if you can! Love that stuff!

... Is there anyone out there who is interested and willing to collaborate short-notice with us on the score? ... There are a few composer threads from this fest and previous two fests. Dig up the threads and PM the composers. Most of thim have mad skillz and can do a very ellaborate 1st draft in a day or two.

Good news is if that's what you are looking for you should be able to find affordable stock music. Our composers are great and I definitley think you should hit them up first. In fact I only mention the stock music sites so the composers will get offended and take your project on anyway even though they are all over committed at this point :cheesy:
If you do go the stock route then

one of the best I think.

Just to second what Jack said, you will find CRAZY good composers around here, so start digging.

Thanks guys. I remember seeing a few composer related threads during the sci-fest but I didn't see any here for the horror fest... time to bust out that crazy search function

Oh yeah, BTS pics will be posted here shortly. Unfortunately, my only access to a computer right now is at the local library (which doesn't have Photoshop) so I can't make a cool movie poster. I'm really digging everyone else's though.

Which electronic game? Is it pac-man? Those ghosts scare me...

Oh, Simon Says. Duh...
So is it Frogger? Asteroids?

Hehe, a horror movie based on Frogger! I love the idea. I think I'll scrap all my footage and run with that idea... if you don't mind, of course.
* EDIT - I've added some BTS pics at the top of this thread and here are a few more I can share without giving up too much about our project.

Ahh, you're making me blush Charli. BTW, I wanted to upload a shot of me wearing that matte box like a skirt but I fear it's probably not "pertanent."

Yeah, that guy's the star of the movie. His name is Justice Cox. Is that a star quality name or what? I've actually seen him fit his entire fist in his mouth after a few beers. It's rather impressive.
And if you're being serious about your inquiry as to that "gigantic thing" on the front of my camera, it's called a mattebox. They work as a sun shade to prevent lens glare and they hold various filters to get numerous looks and effects in-camera.

Yesss! Alright, everyone forget Simon Says... Grindshow Films NOW proudly presents "A Nightmare on Frogger's Street". It's going to be a horrifying story about an amphibian/reptile (?), a crowded highway, and more grue and gore than most can stomach!!! j/k

Ha ha.
Where did you do your shoot? In Germany?
spooky138
09-24-2006, 12:40 PM
Yes. We shot up in my co-director's attic in a quaint little town named Lampertheim. Germany's pretty cool. There are tons of sweet locations like castle ruins, old villages, and such. I would've liked to have taken advantage of these creepy locations but due to time constraints we decided to simplify things and set our movie in an old attic.

Heh, all the qualities of a porn star. Are those sticks stuck to his hands for like a puppet thing? If so, thats a cool idea.

The human marionette thing IS kinda cool... in a Nightmare on Elm St 3: Dream Warriors sort of way. Actually, those are darts stuck in his hands that are attached to wires.

... we used gaffer tape to attach the lines to his palms because it was the stickiest tape we had, but under the lights and his palms sweating profusely, we'd only get one or two takes before the tape would fall off. It was quite the pain in the butt.

EDIT: I should put these in some sort of context since they're kinda abstract. The first three pics are of a drill bit that protrudes out of the movie's antagonist and enters a certain bodily orifice. And the fourth pic is of the antagonist. Enjoy! ... and I look forward to comments / criticisms.
