I'm throwing my hat in the ring here.
I've been lurking here on the boards quietly and have decided to join in on the fun even though its a bit late in the game.
Will be posting some stills/cast pics in the next couple of days.

Good for you! Much more exciting to be participating! And you're off to a good start! Scantily-clad, sexy models is always a great way to grab attention! And if that doesn't work, many others would find that FM2 pretty exciting! :)
348 hours left.... now Git-R-Dun!
Good luck, have a blast!

Thanks for the welcoming and encouragement.
I can't believe how talented everyone is on this forum. This seems like the premiere place to be to learn and compare techniques with other like minded directors.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of your work as well as sharing my own.

After a couple days of searching, I have a cast down. We're filming this Sunday, the 24th. No VX really, just old school suspense.
Shelly Martin will be playing "Heather"
http://www.pochepictures.com/shelly.jpg
I've worked with Shelly on another project earlier this year. She's great and I'm looking forward to working with her again. Sometimes working with the same people just makes things easier and things get better the second time around.
Louise Wu will be playing "Shandra"
http://www.pochepictures.com/louise.jpg
I haven't worked with Louise before but she has been in some short films around the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a beauty queen and is the current Miss Chinatown 2006.
Cliff Poche will be playing the "Photographer"

He's my brother so we've collaborated on numerous occasions, LOL.

Wow, you're in for a real ride to get this thing in. Good luck and I hope there are no major set-backs.
Oh, and I'll take one of each, please...

Thanks. I wish I started a bit earlier and be able to post some BTS stuff along with everyone else but I just wrapped a feature.
"Bloody Mary" looks promising....Nothing like bringing forth those childhood fears. Good luck with that.

Hey Jack,
Yep, we shot yesterday. Went for three hours which was all I
needed...A very simple shoot, I don't even know if I can classify
it as horror...Its more of a suspense thriller than anything else.
These aren't cc'd obviously, just a few stills that hint at what's
to come...

Big challenge now is to see if I can get this baby edited down by the 1st. Sometimes its hard to go from sitting in front of one computer at work all day to going home and getting in front of another, LOL...But no complaints, its my passion and privilege to do this stuff.

I know how you feel! I work in front of a computer all day and go back to spend hours in front of another......

Rezfactor,
I didn't have time to do any VFX or even simple gore...So I decided to go the "hot chick" route, LOL.
Shelly is gorgeous, she facially resembles a young Anne Archer if you remember that hot actress babe from the early 80s.
Louise is the current Miss Chinatown 2006 which says it all ;)

Well, I didn't get this baby done in time for the fest...Truthfully, it was edited down but that Sunday I became frustrated trying to compress it down to the required .mov and mpeg file requirements (actually I still haven't figured out an effective way to do this without buying some heavy duty compression software).
But the movie is on-line at youtube for all to see if anyone is interested. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZvQaqoxEWIw
I'm checking out some of the flicks now and am enjoying them, will post my feedback in a short while.

Interesting flick and I am glad you posted it. The story was pretty good. The twist was nice as well. Only thing lacking story wise was that the guy would not have talked loudly about doing the girls if she could hear him in my opinion.
You tube does not do the visuals justice so I do not know if this was lit well or not. I do think the white balance needed to be used to make everything less ornagy unless that is what you are going for.
The two places this fell for me were sound design and acting. The sound kept starting and stopping, popping, and changing volumes. I'd hear sounds the girl was making that were different than what her mouth was doing. It needs to be tighter and more together.
The acting didn't work for me. The Girl did not sell me at all that she was scared. her screams of "help me" were not loud at all and kind of half hearted. The other two actors were a little better, but the performances did not let me get inot the movie. i kept noticing them.
On the positive side of things, like I said before, the story was good, as was the twist. I applaud you for being able to use that location (hotel room right?) to pull off a whole movie. I am glad you posted this link so that we can watch this and I hope some of the stuff I said helps. Congrats!
