Do you guys think that Edius will make the jump to OS X? I mean, with the mac
sporting the intel chips now and running pretty fast will that be something that
they'll take in consideration?
I would like to get a macbook pro, but because edius only runs on xp I am kinda holding to see what they'll do.

Well, you can run windows software on the new mac's with Bootcamp. As far as I know, you would be able to run Edius on there as well. But I don't see much of a point in getting a mac to run Edius or another Windows based NLE, unless you are doing it for the possibility of also wanting to use FCP. Though, apparently it wasn't true with the release of the Intel based Macs, it is now a fact that you can get a faster PC for cheaper than the Intel based Mac. at least a Dell, anyways. So, in short, if you are a mac guy and use mac's then you can get bootcamp and run Edius or any other windows based program with it, as far as I know (though someone may tell me I'm wrong on this). But if you are a PC guy, I don't personally see the benefit of going to a Mac to run PC based software unless you might want to switch to FCS in the future or something. I thought about doing it for a few minutes myself. But ultimately I decided that I will go with the faster Dell, and get 2 widescreen displays instead of one, run Edius and save 1000 to 1500 bucks.
Hope this answered your question
P.S. if you really wanna know about Mac's and them running PC software, find cynic, he is pretty mac through and through, and because of that is also more than willing to thoroughly answer your questions and help you out.

No plans for a Mac OS-native EDIUS. Since Mac's are moving to Intel CPUs anyway, Bootcamp is the best option.

Thanks for all your replies....
I was thinking about the Powerbook since it carries that intel chips it might be
the all in one computer to run both win and mac applications without having
to worry bout having 2 comps. But really, I think I'll get the Dell XPS M1710 for a little more money.
I saw an episode on MacBreak about bootcamp and they were saying that bootcamp does not work in full screen more, just a small window.
Have they changed that?
Thanks

Not sure what they're talking about. Ran Bootcamp on a MacBook Pro and with the graphics drivers installed (Bootcamp creates a driver install CD for you), Windows runs just as it would on a PC.
Maybe they didn't install all the drivers or something...
