The potential at 20 a pop is fantastic. This is really cool. Just disable the auto focus (to avoid the little burst of light), and yer set. I can think of about fifty cool things to do.
I'm definately buying a few of these.

wait, so this is triggerd by the main flash going off? without the camera sending any type of signal? If so, count me in!

Yup. No signal from the camera, any flash will set them off. I couldn't believe it when I read about them. I don't imagine they are as powerfull as a larger unit that would fit onto your camera, but to suppliment a weaker onboard flash and create awsome bounces and angles is fine, fine, fine.
There are some reviews where people are knocking it because of the preflash setting them off. Well, turn off red eye reduction, and auto focus, or, leave on the autofocus, let the flashes go off from the preflash auto focus and after they rechage, fire away.
I think most of the somplaints are from people who don't know how to operate their cameras. disabling the right things is too easy NOT to invest in some. I plan on buying 2 tomorrow.

I know this is an old topic, but i used them even when i had my old Sony DSC85. They're great to work with.

They are really handy when you need creative lighting for small objects in a pinch.
