I really like the idea of the p2 store very portable and reliable and small to put in my hand bag on a shoot. I don't like the idea of using a laptop on the move especially when half way up a mountain or on a sky slope or on a beech!!!

The only problem is the 60gb size of the hard drive. We want to shoot in 1080i so that's only 60 mins of footage ! Last Monday we were shooting an show at Olympia and shot 2 and a half hours of footage.

I don't want to buy two p2 stors and I don't want the hassle of transferring to a Laptop. Anyway to offload the 60 gb p2 store to a laptop would take to long.

I understand a 60 gb drive was chosen for reliability because of the signal platter. Well why did they not put 2 , 3 or even 4 drives inside ???:crybaby:

Has anyone tried putting a bigger hard drive say 120gb in the p2 store. I know that a lot of people have done this withtheir PVR's.

Panasonic should release a single drive p2 store that is less expensive and with a FW400 or 800 port.

I would certainly agree with a larger, faster drive or at LEAST a FW400/800 interface.

I don't think they care about their Mac customers either.

i'm pretty sure the way the P2 store works is based off of the number of partitions you can create... The way panasonic worked it is since 8GB P2 cards work like 2-4GB p2 cards, you can make either 15 offloads (partitions) of 4 gig cards or 7 offloads of 8 gig cards... I think the max partions is 15.. someone can correct me if i'm wrong... I'm sure panasonic will come out with new products as soon as they re-coup enough revenue to justify more R&D on improving P2 offloading options, but for now, they'll prob milk it... my 2c
