Burning the DVD or Burning the "Image" same thing??

When my dvd is ready to burn, there is an option....

1) Burn it to dvd

or

2) Burn it to an image file.

If I burn to an image file first, then, image to dvd....will I get the same picture as burning directly to dvd the first time?

What is the purpose of burning to an image file?

Better play back later?

Yeah its the same thing but one extra step. If you make an image file when you want to create another DVD just burn the image file. This way you don't have to mess with the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders.

Are they combined when I make the image?

Sometimes when I burn a dvd, the audio is a pinch off.... just enough to drive me nuts. I'll try an image first... maybe it will combine the 2?

yeah they are combined. If you make an image you can test it by opening it in MagicISO.
