Yeah, several people are I think, but it's not always the budget... and sometimes people count their equipment purchases in the budget as well.

 I count the equipment I had to buy for the project in with the other expenses. But it is not the budget that makes the movie. It is definitely the creativity and heart behind it.

That's my deal. I had to get a controller for a jib shot that I wasn't planning on buying right away. So, I'm including that in the budget for Black Angel.

I personally consider everything I buy part of the budget - from crew to equipment to software to food to gas, etc.

Since I already have equipment I don't count it. I DO count new purchases though... and I do count food and everything else.

Sure... it'll go up I am sure... after buying the three person cast and crew, maybe to $30 or so

I bought 4 chairs at Target, $39 each. I still have to buy a bikini at Target ($30). Two props at $24.99 and $7.99 each. Paying one actress $100, and her sister, $100 for various duties. Crew: $0 (me). Music: $27 (Acid loops CD). Grand total: $461.57. Not bad.

Nobody over $5000, yet? I'm surprised.

Several hundred bucks ... mostly food and beer.. the shoot went way longer than I expected peoples schedules and such. So it adds up, i'm afraid to read the receipts. I will do that after i submit the movie :)

I was quite surprised to see some of the budgets here. An expensive hobby, eh? (hopefully more than a hobby for you all!)

I can't count any new equipment expenses because it is ALL new, basically. And you all know how much this stuff costs!

My expenses will be tapes and gas. I am doing all of my own acting, camera, lighting, sound, writing and directing! (Sounds like a winner, huh? )

I am doing it for the experience. I am a creative perfectionist. I think it will be worth watching.

And can I just say.... "I LOVE MY CAMERA!!!" :love4:

oh, man.... I WISH I was. That would be so cool. Plus, I miss the West Coast so much. I talk about moving back there so much. If I do, I am sure that I will find a whole bunch of dvx friends! (Not many up here in Moose country!)

You should, man. There are a lot of cool people on dvxuser... and everyone seems to love filmmaking and want to just be a part of whatever project is going on... Cali's calling my friend...

I've noticed that here. I see examples written here all the time. DVXUSERS are COOL.

And Cali's been calling for the last 12 years. I was on my way back when I met my wife here in New Hampshire. Damn! I was SO CLOSE to moving back.

Still not out of the question. I actually have my wife talking about moving, which involves leaving her very close-knit family. But it is time.

Until then, it's long distance, my friend!
