I am shooting a full feature in 3 weeks and its going to festivals and dvd prduction the problem is how do I shoot.... I want widescreen

do I shoot 4:3 on camera and make it 16:9 on vegas?

do I shoot squezze on camera and keep it 16:9 on vegas

how much resolution do I loose by shooting squeeze on camera?

is it better to shoot 4:3 and make it widescreen on vegas?

what are the pros and cons? thanks guys always

Squeeze: simple to shoot, easy to frame, once you get used to the look on LCD, better to get a 16:9 monitor though. Quality is decent.

4:3: can be cropped to suit in post. Preferred by some, because of the ability to be somewhat flexible in post. best to block off LCD anyway though, to make sure framing suits 16:9. Quality is about equal to squeeze, although some say not quite as good.

and:

Anamorphic adapter: more complicated to use, as focus/focal point issues are required to be understood, and properly followed. Use of filters is restricted. Best quality though.

Just shoot Squeeze, it's the easiest way to go, least hassle, easiest framing, no post hassles... just make sure you choose THIN line detail.

The setting is either Thin, Med or Thick...
