As i have been having a hell of a time getting my finished sequences out of Avid and on line (major issues with sorenson 4.3:( ) How about a list of what you guys are using to get the product to market from the comfort of the edit suit. I'm sure all newbies would find this a great place to start looking at software options that will remove some of the compression frustration i've been going through.

I'm running windows XP with Avid Express Pro HD and tried sorenson but although the interface is brillant i never managed to get a complete sequence through the system without some form of error. (see thier site, form)

Now i'm trying out Turbine Video Encoder2 - although it is a much simpler interface without too many choices it works!! I'm using it for some Flash encoding on there 30 day trial.

Have also looked at ProCoder2. No free trial?? and the return policy is questionable. (after the Sorenson experience i'm weary) but i'm very interested in it - looks great. Is anyone using this version that can throw down a helpful comment???

Also DVD lab pro2 for transfer to DVD (free trial) looks o.k. Still getting through compression at present to online stuff so haven't put it to the test yet.

Anyway any suggestions on what works - settings etc would be extremely helpful. It's hard to work all that out shooting from the hip. LOL

Cheers Nick

ProCoder2 is a very good Transcoder. If you aren't planning on doing large batch jobs then use procoder express. it has the same transcoder engine. If you decide to go with the full blown package keep in mind that they have a service pack 2 out and rumors that a service pack 3 is in the works. I have be using it for about 3 years and have been extremely satisfied. especially knowing that I can transode multiple formats simultaneously.

Hope this helps

Procoder2.0 is not bad.
But for speed, Sorenson Squeeze is the way to go.
