What can you tell from a video posted on youtube. Maybe the camera is great ,but if you are making critical judgements based on youtube, you might as well light up another rock

I have a critical Comment of Youtube

The video you have requested is not available.

If you have recently uploaded this video, you may need to wait a few minutes for the video to process.

Can't watch it :(

Can't watch it :(

Try it again, I just clicked on the link, and it worked for me.

I wish I was able to see those shots being projected, and not just through a youtube video.

Beautiful almost other worldly pictures but.......
And so the little wheel traveled down the hill and as it did it gained speed and size and traveled faster and faster and the children seeing this magical object squealed with glee and ran towards the uncoming object of their dreams and desires with open arms, the old man looked up and smiled as he watched the childern, then turned his eyes just in time to see the the now giant wheel coming straight for the screaming happy crowd of children, before he could warn them, their squeals of glee turned to crys for help and then screams of anguish and pain. The old man fought back the tears, he had rushed to warn the children but too late, their crys were silent the street was littered with their trears, and shards of the broken wheel, a cold wind blew down the cobblestone streets as the old man turned once again into the wind . vl

STILL no official response from RED on their website, except a "small" image of a watch. I know reservation holders, and IBC attendants should get preferencial treatment, but the rest of us should get to see some stills at the very least. Its not like we sinned by not being able to attend IBC!

The YouTube-vid was actually shot by Chris using my old Panasonic 3CCD-cam yesterday. He had the camera in his hand, resting his elbow on the seat in front of him...still...the show was great.

Today I used the same camera to shoot some footage of the mock-up camera's they had in the Red-stand at IBC2006. I'll edit that stuff and put in some of the Q&A Chris shot yesterday, but didn't use in that first video of his.

AWESOMEEEEEE ! ! ! ! ! !

One question though for the Red Gods, why did you choose to shoot everything behind black? Why not some outdoor stuff or something that was evenly lit ?

KEEP IT ON THE UP UP UP !!!

thank you

there was a few reasons for this.. first the camera at this stage needs very clean power and isnt the most portable unit in the world yet... pointing it out the door is about as good as they could do in 3 days. (3 days was the shooting schedule)

Second.. Black is a very good spot to reveal noise. Black and a grey gradient (i.e a moving watch falling out of light) lets you push through the IRE range to spot problems.

That's the reason I assumed they shot what they shot. Good tell tale sign on the noise levels.

..VERY VERY NICE. you can tell i really think so cause its in caps. now im really wondering if anyone on the red team is able to send out a 1080p or 2k h.264 of the demo? that would be great for all those not there to get a 1/2 res tatse.

Jarred Land
09-10-2006, 08:54 AM
The H.264 video will drop next week sometime.. they need to come back from across the pond first.

And a 1080p version isn't 1/2 res... thats less than a 1/4 res ha hah a.. man thats nuts.

I was never as excited as you guys, but moreso curious, but now...I don't know, it feels like all other companies are going to be staring at the RED, trying to compete with it, trying to imitate it. There's always one company that begins the run, others follow suit regardless of whether they'll advance the technology. Its just nice to see this company sprout out of no where and compete against the big boys. Sony is gay btw.
