But the odd part is Mel has his share of problems, the difference is he knows and admits to them, unlike most of us (and probably his most harsh critics) and tries to better himself. Frankly he's not the first guy to get drunk and talk smack. Not to mention we all knew Mel had "problems" considering he told everyone about it in his interviews during "The Passion" promo segments on various talk shows. I do have a question, before "The Passion" had anyone every heard of Mel Gibson's "antisemetic" leanings?
I mean the guys been around for awhile and I never heard this until he did a Jesus film? If someone does a Jesus movie is it customary to makes sure the story is only told in away that doesn't offend Jews? Is that possible, considering that in the story the main people who moved against Jesus were the Jewish religous intitution and the Roman Government?
I do believe Gibson has some problems with anti-semetism but unlike many racist he knows it's not right. I don't know, this all seem to come out of know where. I doubt this will hurt his career and I'm sure his film will be big. Speaking of which, I know this sounds bad, but has anyone thought this may be a publicity stunt. I mean with a movie so close to hitting the theaters. I mean the guy blasted up on IMDB right?

Im backing you up on that one. Mel is great, but what he did ruined him. Im not ashamed, I just feel bad because "Sugar-tits" has now ruined his carreer.

i'm not convinced. i think he could come out of it. i may be wrong. but i think he will. it would be horrible if he was blacklisted.

I think hes got enough money to warrent a blacklist by the Jewish powers that be in hollywood
"Domestic: $370,782,930 60.6%
+ Foreign: $241,116,490 39.4%
= Worldwide: $611,899,420 "
from box office mojo

This isn't some flash in the pan or upcoming talent; Mel has PWNT Hollywood for 20 years.

That's the problem, you can't blacklist a guy with $400 million (or more) dollars. And since he was the primary producer and distributor you do the math. Gibson would have to kill someone in cold blood without a shadow of a doubt or totally become a Courtney Love style druggie, (and frankly that hasn't really ruined Love's career).
As for the "Jewish powers" the anti-defamation has already forgiven him and the story basically went away after a week or so. Keep in mind Gibson is working on a film about the holocaust. (So I've heard). People still love Gibson and many people do worse and get a free pass.

The moral of the story is as long as you're making money for your masters it's all good.

Who cares as long as he's making good movies. A small faction trying to discredit him will just fuel the fire. After all, Publicity in the form of controversy always sells tickets, and it always will.

Everybody's got their own agenda. Some don't like certain actors because they have a problem with their agenda but they quickly overlook their own "pet" actors because they agree with their: read, polictics, religion, life style, whatever. The thing is, we're all a bit hypocritical. We say, "well, I agree with this shithead, so he's okay. This asshat pisses me off, so I'm not going to support his agenda." I'm as guilty as anyone else, but I'm not striking Mel off my "to see" list.
