Not much info at this time ... I wanna put together something clean before I start hyping too much ...

Just getting the thread started so ya'll know I'm here and working...

Thanks to everyone here for the "get off your ass and do something" rah rah going on in just about every thread in the horrorfest section ... inspired me to take this project on despite having less than a month to write/shoot/edit this bad boy (the annoucement of the grand prize didn't hurt either)

I'm also helping my girl plan our wedding (Sept. 23rd) on top of trying to do this short, but I will do my best to update as often as I can.

---

The story/storyboards are finished. The location is secure (a creepy old vaudeville theater that was converted into a movie theater in the 1930s, and is now being renovated back into a live theater - pictures to come)

Only two characters and both have been cast. One has 25 years of acting experience, one is 6. Should be interesting.

I'll be running the camera and directing, and doing all of the post work.

Budget of roughly $100, including tapes.

We are doing some lighting tests this week and plan to start shooting this saturday.

More to come...

I can hear the echo... nice day for a... a White wedding. Maybe you could pair the horror fest to coincide with your big day. Like the bride from hell or something.

hmmm...... 25 years of acting experience and a 6 year old? Does he see dead people?

Good for you for getting off you duff and doing it! The inspiration around here is contageous!

And least we not forget the most inportant things in life... congrats on the wedding!

Have a great shoot. (I had a story line for a horror story in an old theatre... looking forward to yours!)

Congrats on the wedding.

I felt almost the opposite of you about the fest, what with everyone showing their great work in the individual threads; I was almost too intimidated/embarrassed to think of joining, but I decided I have to start somewhere.

Good luck, I'd love to see some shots of the theatre.

UPDATE:

I was suposed to meet with our 6 year old and her parents last night, but they had something come up and cancelled. Hopefully I'll be able to get with them on Sunday. Just in case, we're going to start looking for a backup. I'm a little concerned about putting a six year old in the dark in a creepy old theatre anyway, so a backup is definately needed...

Had a production meeting last night that went well ... we're waiting on the arrivial of our military balloons... we're gonna try and rig a balloon shot that starts at the ceiling of the theatre and slowly drops to ground level ... they rig looks pretty cool on paper, but we'll have to see how practical it is once we get it on set ... if nothing else it should make a decent steadycam

Doing lighting tests tonight and tomorrow ... I will take my camera and get some stills of parts of the location and hopefully get some good test footage that I can get some grabs from...

I'm right there with ya ... I definately feel out of my comfort zone (and out of my league) ... I've done several shorts and worked on a few features, but all have been super low budget and shot amongst friends. "Cold Cash" made it to Nexflix, which is a pretty cool thing for a kid coming out of Fulton, MO, but we never had a screening with a bunch of strangers and then listened while they picked it apart... plus that one didn't come out of my brain, so it only half counts...

I've never put myself out there like I'm about to do with this ... right now I'm just worried about the deadline...

I'm gonna need a tutorial on how to post up pics... is there one to be found, or am I just retarded?

In order to post a pic you have to give the url for the pic's location, so upload it somewhere and just copy the link...

When you write a new post there is the 'add image' (or sth) button ....

I believe that you can do that as well! I use our company's web site to upload stuff but you can use the Center here as well!
