Okay everyone this is killing me is there anyway to add motion tracking data to a layer mask? I know there has to be a workaround I'm just not sure the best way to do it. Basically I have a garbage matte in keylight I need tracked to a layer, and I don't want to do it by hand. Anyone?

If the mask is a layer in itself, Just parent the mask to the other layer.
Thats if i understood your question correctly :-/

did you find a solution? When it happened to me i asked on this forum the same question. Kai gave me the best solution, Rotoslaves plugin, people that rotoscope by hand for you.
Btw i heard that Silhouette is the best plugin to automate rotoscoping. I will test it one day...

When you motion track you could apply that to a null object, then parent all the layers you want to the null object. They will all follow the tracking data. Basically what miniman13 said.

Yeah, Silhouette rocks. You can apply trackers to individual nodes of of a mask outline which can be really really handy.
If you created the garbage matte with keylight operations, you could precomp the setup and apply the precomp to a tracker (though a keylight-created garbage matte should follow the action on it's own right?)
If you're talking about a manually created mask, which you are then feeding into keylight, that could be a little trickier if you want to use a tracker instead of keyframing (which isn't usually all that hard really, especially if you're not changing shape).
You might consider creating just using a solid over the plate (in the color of your keying screen) with a subtraction mask applied to puch a hole in it (your garbage mask) and tie the position of that layer to a track from your plate. Precomp the result and feed it to keylight.
Just a thought.
