View Full Version : Almost Finished Editing

Hi, my zombie comedy-horror film is almost completely edited (using Vegas 6.0). It was filmed with a DVX100B in 24P. After I finish editing, I'm uncertain what I should do to improve image quality. I have the Magic Bullet software, but am not sure if I should use it. I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make since I filmed in 24P, but I'm clueless when it comes to Magic Bullet (since this is my first film).
Aside from whether or not I should use Magic Bullet, I'm wondering what else I should do to improve image quality (I know that people render and convert, and deal with timelines).
Much thanks!

Magic Bullet: Be aware that it adds a ton of rendering time.

I haven't used it (been meaning to buy it), but a lot of people here swear by Celluloid, $24.99, bottom of that page. Lots of different looks, but they render waaayyy faster than MB.

As far as image quality, most of that comes in-camera when shooting. Some color grading, curves, etc. can enhance the footage in post. I'm sure you'll get lots more specific responses on this...

Totally awesome. I'll look into that program. Thanks! I'm looking to improve my film any way possible, so all advice/feedback is greatly appreciated.

Iv too heard that celluloid renders faster than magic bullet.
In fact if im not wrong David Jimerson whos a very active member here on the forum is the one who has designed celluloid.

The VASST website claims 85% faster. You can download a demo version and try it out. And yes, it's the same David Jimerson who sits at 9,999 posts. I'm sure we're all excited to see his 10K-stravaganza!

Hey Frizzle....Yes the man is a storehouse of knowledge on Vegas. But i did notice that hes been missing on the forum for the past few days. He used to regularly reply to posts but did you notice hes not posted for the past 2 weeks. Any news....or am i just missing his posts ?

Plainman--Jimerson is coming up with an awesome 10,000th post video. If you notice, his most recent post is 9,999. It's customary around here to dish out a personal video when reaching milestone posts, such as 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, etc.

So, he's not leaving us hanging--he's probably putting on the finishing touches to his video. And he's also probably pretty busy doing other stuff....I think he just got married, too.

Haha, and here I thought it was Jimerson who nixed the post count, just to get out of doing a 10K video. ;-) Looking forward to it, David!
